Astilbe 'Cattleya' is a tall variety known for its large panicles of vibrant orchid pink flowers on upright stems. It usually forms a foliage mound that is half the height of its flower stems. The leaves start with a reddish tint but mature to a deep green.

Grow in a semi-shaded position where they receive light for a few hours in the morning. Correct soil conditions and moisture is important for the astilbe to flourish, so incorporate plenty of compost when planting and ensure you incorporate mulch yearly to keep the roots moist.
