This cultivar of Metrosideros excelsa has been carefully selected for its more upright, dense, and compact growth habit. Retaining the resilience of the traditional Metrosideros excelsa, it boasts exceptionally large, vibrant red flowers that bloom from early to mid-summer, attracting nectar-seeking birds. Metrosideros Vibrance is an ideal option for suburban gardens and serves excellently as a street tree. Its green leaves feature silver-grey undersides, adding to its visual appeal. This evergreen variety is native to New Zealand. Metrosideros excelsa 'Vibrance' was discovered by John Dodsworth-Smith, who brought it to the attention of Graeme Platt around 1985. The original tree grows in a reserve near the sea in Waiomu on the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand.
