Blueberry Blue Star™

This New Zealand-bred variety of Blue Star™ blueberries produces large, firm, dark blue fruit, following the bloom of pink-tinged creamy white flowers in spring. With an attractive upright growth habit and bronze autumn colors, they are ideal for hedging or as stand-alone plants. Suitable for all regions in New Zealand, they can be grown in gardens or containers.

Blueberries are renowned for their numerous health benefits, including improved mental health, heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure regulation, and cancer prevention, among others.

Blue Star™ blueberries ripen from late December. To enhance their flavor, leave the berries on the plant for 5-7 days after they turn blue. Plant them in full sun, though they can tolerate afternoon shade. Prune by removing dead, diseased, or weak wood, and after 4-5 years, cut out old branches at the crown to encourage vigorous new growth.
