Aloe Black Gem has dark green, waxy leaves that darken through red to a purple-green with increased sunlight exposure. It is smaller than other aloes so it is great for indoor pots. Easy to care for and prefers a bright warm spot with some direct sunlight.

Intolerant of wet feet, very well-drained soil is crucial. Sandy soils are best. Before planting cultivate soil to a depth of 20cm and mix in compost and a complete garden fertiliser. Use Oderings Potting & Basket Mix for containers.
